Resonance & Craniosacral Therapy with Scott Zamurut

Posted on

Scott Zamurut is a practitioner and teacher of somatic and energetic healing arts with over thirty-three years of experience in the field. His training background includes massage therapy, Polarity Therapy, private mentoring in structural integration, group leadership and dynamics, and ontological coaching, all of which support his current work in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and Pre and Perinatal education and healing. Scott shares his journey into the healing arts and what distinguishes the biodynamic approach amongst other approaches to craniosacral work. We discuss how energy is the “agency of healing”, the experience of sensing the body and the energy field in an integrated way and even integrating chakras within the craniosacral paradigm. We cover the importance of being present with the body, the earth and the energetic midline. We also investigate a core concept called primary respiration: how the body not only breathes physically but also energetically. Scott talks about developing palpation and perceptual skills, trauma healing, how to integrate classical psychic perception in touch therapy and the importance of maintaining healthy boundaries as a practitioner. He shares how working energetically gets us beyond the narrative and how the body resets and self-heals after energetic resolution. Scott entered his teaching path in 1990 with Polarity Therapy. As a student and teacher trainee in the first BCST training with Franklyn Sills, he is among the longest tenured Biodynamics teachers in North America. Scott was also fortunate to work extensively in the Pre and Perinatal field with Karlton Terry, who mentored directly with William Emerson, Ph.D. These two streams of healing work are alive as the core focus of Scott’s healing and teaching practice. He served as a founding board member of the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America, and is a past Vice President of the American Polarity Therapy Association. He is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
