Psilocybin Mushrooms & Psychedelic Therapy — Jahan Khamsehzadeh, PhD on Consciousness, Healing & Ancient-Future Medicine
Discover how psilocybin mushrooms have been used across cultures to spark healing, expand consciousness, and support profound psychological transformation. In this episode of The Future of Wellness, psychedelic researcher Jahan Khamsehzadeh, PhD guides us through two decades of research into psychedelics spanning neuroscience, evolution, psychology, and indigenous traditions.
Jahan shares the story of his own pivotal mystical experience and the scientific foundations that inform his work. We explore why psychedelics were culturally suppressed in the 20th century, why they’re returning through modern clinical research, and how they work on the brain, psyche, and energy system. Jahan discusses the difference between microdosing, ceremonial use, and psychedelic-assisted therapy, offering grounded clarity on a topic that’s both ancient and urgently relevant to our collective wellbeing.
We also look at the intersection of psychology, somatics, and shamanism, and how psilocybin is being used legally today in places like Jamaica. Whether you’re curious, cautious, or already deeply engaged in the psychedelic space, this episode offers a thoughtful, expansive, and accessible doorway into the world of ancient-future medicine.
