Our Body is an Electroacoustic Instrument! with Eileen McKusick
Posted on
Today we are joined by Eileen Day McKusick, a pioneering researcher, practitioner and educator in the fields of therapeutic sound, the human biofield and electric health. As founder of the sound therapy method Biofield Tuning, we discuss the “biofield” – the body’s electrical system, what happens to this biofield in instances of disease and disorder, and how sound healing uses physics-based principles of resonance and entrainment to help the body shift into a more coherent expression. Eileen describes what happens when our bodies go “out of tune” due to avoidance, injuries, unskillful thoughts or trauma and how these distortions in the biofield become part of the lens through which we experience life.
Eileen shares how the Biofield Tuning Map she has devised suggests that memories are stored as standing-waves in the field, how every emotion has a tonal equivalent like a kind of “sonic braille” and how the field organizes the chronology of memory. Eileen also explains bold concepts such as the relationship between voltage, pH and health and how “the body is in the mind”. Eileen is author of the award winning, bestselling book Tuning the Human Biofield: Healing with Vibrational Sound Therapy, 2014, as well as Electric Body, Electric Health published by St. Martin’s Press in 2021.
